However the pool area is not so enticing eventhough it's semi outdoor pool which means you can get quite some view from above. "

"I was stay in here just for one night. It's just such a budget hotel in heart of Surabaya. I booked the capsule express room which can only accomodate one person. The room was so small, maybe 1x3 meter(s). So, there`s no large space, only a bed and a corner table. The air conditioner was good and also the wifi worked well. There`s a free water dispenser along with tea and coffee. If you go around the hotel in the evening, there`s some "tenda kaki lima, we called it in Indonesia". They sell many foods and drinks so you don`t afraid about being hungry in the late evening"

"nice friendly staff and the owner was very pleasant , and kind enough to let me book in much earler ,, as i was there very early the morning , before 8 ; 00 am ,, for which i was very grateful because I was really very tired ,, ,, I also extended my stay for another two days ,, and after my first day ,, I was given a bigger and better room ,,I was so grateful ,, lots of eateries around ,, and supermarkets ,, also allowed touse the kitchen ,, "

"Good place for a quick crash after a long drive if you are passing by surabaya or just need a days stop to grab stuffs and head back to wherever you came from. Fast internet & cable tv .. helpful staff ..car parking may be limited and access to the location between 10 pm and 4 am might be confusing (certain roads are closed at night)"

"got there on 9am and can't get in, must wait 1pm for check in, go around the environment which have nothing to be seen, but can think of it as an adventure of itself, tasting surrounding delicacies in traditional warung, food are plenty, in the cheap way, but very delicious food, taste is comparable with 5 stars hotel food. back on 12pm cause nothing much to do except eat eat eat in many warung nearby, and the staff helpfull enough to let me in at that time, not have to wait for 1pm. got into the room and it was not big, it's huge, high value of money spent, bed is also soft and comfortable, airconditioner is cool (not cold). next day, got off to nearest mall and attractions, and only found 1 mall nearby, cito mall, which is just a decent mall to look around, go to other mall which quite far away using taxi cost about 7 - 10 usd, if using local transportation cost only , but taking local transport is only recomended to people who know the way and who's adventurous enough for not getting scared of lost. back to apartment and prepared to meet my messy stuff all over the room's floor, but the housekeeping in which i don't know exist, cleaning up my room to be very clean and comfortable again. use the internet with lan cable (wifi available but poor connection) and the cable internet is very fast, above indonesia's average speed. check out the next day, they let me wait in comfortable lounge when they did the check out . got my deposit money back, and off i went to other area in surabaya. next day in other area i forgot my sandals still left at this hotel, got back there, staff asked me to wait, and got my sandals back. overall impression : excellent service, poor location for having fun travel, but good location if u're a backpacker and want to experience local people hospitality. they are all indeed very friendly."

"Staying at Kanwa Residence is quite satisfactory. The room is clean and spacious. One thing I dislike was the reception counter always with cigarette smoke/ smells. A local advised me not to go out and walk nearby streets as it is not safe, especially during the night. I was staying in a room ground floor which Internet accessible is not strong. They may need to improve this as well. "
