I have stayed at two hostels in the Central area according to my reservation schedule, and if I were to compare the two, I would recommend this one more. It is located in a convenient location in Central, and the 4-person room is well-lit, spacious, and clean. The room height is high, so even if you are assigned to a second-floor bed, it is not uncomfortable. The common areas and cooking facilities are also spacious and plentiful, so there is no need to wait. The bathroom and shower are also well separated and clean, which is satisfying. If I have the opportunity to stay for a long time again, this is the place I would like to stay.

As someone who has experienced YHA in New Zealand and Australia extensively, I was truly disappointed. The young female staff who assisted with check-in and the young male staff who helped with extending my stay were both very kind and made my stay comfortable. The facilities were clean and even the dorms were nice. However, I have a complaint about the olde male staff, who was working during the early morning hours. When my friend and I arrived late at night, my friend swiped her card to enter, and when I followed, he asked to see my card. I showed it to him, and he took a long time to verify it, even asking to see the piece of paper with my room number on it. He stared at my face and the screen alternately for a while. When I asked if there was a problem, he sarcastically replied, 'No, but congratulations, you just have to wait a bit longer.' I don't understand why he behaved and spoke like that. He didn't treat other backpackers that way. I wondered if it was because I'm Asian. The interaction ended there, and when I checked out at 4:00 am, he took my key without a word or even making eye contact, just saying 'ok. Go.' It's clear there's an issue. Hostels are places where people of all races come together from all over the world. It's unacceptable that someone like him is employed there. I am very disappointed with YHA, and I won't be going to the Central branch next time. I hope you'll tell that employee to learn how to respect people and consider finding a different job if service isn't suitable for him.

it is official YHA - Youth hostel association - so a hostel with rules, if you want a party - don;t stay here. it has rules - no noise after 10pm. which is perfect for me. rooms are clean and sheets. they can help you leave your bag should you need it. it is huge, i didn't think there would be enough bathrooms but i never waited for a shower or toilet. be considerate and friendly to others and it will be a pleasant stay
