My husband, daughter and I took a tuk tuk to the resort from Tagbilaran Ferry Terminal, which took about 30 minutes. The front gate is manned by a security officer who verifies you have reservations and lets you onto the property. At the front of the resort, we were greeted by friendly staff who directed us to the check-in counter. We were offered welcome drinks and cold towelettes at check-in. Staff helps with luggage and as we walked further into the resort, we noticed how truly beautiful the facility was. My family and I were in awe. We were walked to our bedroom and it was a great room with two large beds and a smaller one for our 17 year old. They took care to include robes, flip flops and a bag of Peanut Kisses on our pillow. We truly felt as if we were in paradise. Within the first half hour, we were already enjoying the heated pool and live music. The bar area was spectacular, and the whole beach dining area was awesome. We got hungry, so we sat at one of the beach tables. We waited a while, but staff did not approach us to give us menus or ask if we needed anything. My husband eventually flagged a waiter, and after taking our order, the food out quickly. The food was great, and they charged the bill to our room, which is super convenient when you are at the beach or pool and don’t want to bring money or cards. The breakfast buffet was AMAZING. The food was fresh and delicious. We enjoyed the beach for a few hours and even utilized their free kayak and paddleboard rental, which was free to the resort guests. We went on a tour to see tarsiers, Chocolate Hills, the man made forest, and a few other top tourist attractions in Bohol. Upon returning to the resort, we got ready for dinner. This is where I feel it went downhill. After a long day, we were really hungry and tired. We sat at one of the tables on the beachside, and sat…and sat. There was an huge event happening, so we figured staff was busy but would get to us. After 30 minutes of waiting, my husband got us glasses of water since no one had assisted us yet. He also flagged down a waiter, who quickly took our order. I’m not sure where the communication got messed up but my daughter ordered a choco-banana shake. My husband ordered a chicken Cesar’s salad, and I just ordered the chips with spinach and artichoke dip because I was feeling a little too tired to eat a full blown meal. My husband asked for no anchovies. The waiter repeated our order, and perhaps I didn’t not hear him repeat it incorrectly, but the only thing he missed was keeping the anchovies off, so my husband reminded him to hold the anchovies, and the waiter wrote the instructions down. After waiting another 30 minutes, a different waiter brought out a chocolate Oreo shake for my daughter. Although she didn’t order the Oreo shake, she just drank it because we were starving and were getting irritated from waiting for so long. Finally, after a total of 45 minutes to an hour, the waiter came out with the salad and chips. The nachos were good but the dip was already cold. I didn’t complain for fear that it would take another hour for them to rectify my order. My husband’s salad had no chicken. How do you order a chicken Cesar salad with no chicken? We told the waiter that my daughter’s shake was wrong, but since she had drank about 1//3 of the glass, we weren’t offered a replacement (I’m guessing here). My husband was so hangry and irritated that he said he didn’t want his order and told the waiter to take the salad back. The waiter didn’t apologize, we weren’t offered anything at all. It’s not like we expected to be comped our food, but as guests at a supposedly higher caliber resort, you’d think they’d try to suggest something, anything, for the long wait, lack of service, and the incorrect order. I do have to say though, they brought my halo-halo out (I forgot to mention that I also ordered halo-halo, and I thought they forgot about it) was the best halo-halo I have ever had in my life. Clean, white beach, clear blue waters, great rooms , good food and nice staff, Oceanica has all what you can expect in a 5star resort. It was also a plus to have acoustic singers on the beach , and the continuous pipe in music sets a relaxing mood for the day. Only negative point i can mention is that the bath towels in the room are too heavy and thick. Not handy to use. Otherwise our whole stay was great and will definitely come back in the near future.

We recently stayed at Oceanica Resort and have mixed feelings about our visit. The place itself is beautiful, with many coconut trees that provide nice shade and a tropical vibe. Our room was comfortable, but it felt a bit old, and the bathroom could really use some improvements. One thing we didn’t like was the service. When we arrived, we expected a warm welcome since it’s a high-end resort. They gave us welcome drinks, but we had to carry the tray ourselves to the restaurant while also carrying our backpacks. The staff member who handed it to us left right away, and no one offered to help. It felt like the attention was mainly on the day-use guests, not on those actually staying overnight. Oceanica is quite expensive, but it didn’t feel very exclusive. There are other hotels at half the price that offer better service. The main pool near the beach looks great and has nice couches and beds, but it was very crowded and noisy from morning until around 6 PM. There’s a separate pool for stay-in guests, but the view there isn’t as nice. Overall, the resort has potential, but we expected more for the price we paid.

Although it's a bit pricey than competing resorts in the area they'd definitely make you realize that you get exactly what you paid for. Their staff is well trained even gardeners will greet you when they see you and all our requests were followed from the smallest to some big requests for my kid. They also serve great food that u can enjoy in front of the beach which I love and they have a band every night when u want to unwind and hear some relaxing music. Also, they have a farm that you can visit although it is separate from the resort there's a service from the hotel to the farm that will bring you there. They also have a very clean place since someone monitors the place from morning to evening. This is one of the best place we stayed as a family.

“Top beach resort”
We were staying for 4 nights (sadly not longer) in October in south palms and had a wonderful time. The perfect place to switch directly from busy work life to holiday mode. Room was very clean, super comfortable bed and pillows. Everyday room service, friendly and helpful staff who want to make your stay the most comfortable. The area of the resort is huge and if I remember right it has a total of 700m beach. Talking about the beach, it's a beautiful white sand beach with coconut palm trees all over the property. The sea is crystal clear with diffrent shades of blue. Just like you would imagine tropical paradise. Under the cocnunt trees you have planty of options to relax in hanging beds, bean bags and more. Absolutely heaven! The food in their restaurant is also absolutely delicious. The included breakfast is more than worth it! Huge buffet with all kind of diffrent types of know breakfasts. Freshest sea food and best shrimps we ever had for dinner. When my partner wanted to surprise me with a dessert / cake and a candle on it the manager heared her talking to one of the waiters and said directly it will be on the house. After a delicious dinner 4-5 waiters / waitresses surprised me with singing happy birthday and bringing the dessert. We can only recommend South Palms Resort Panglao and will definitely come back.
