Summer House Staff is lovely!! Big shout out to Georgia and Jana. Very warm welcome in Summerhouse. +Amazing social hostel, good location, free brekkie, clean rooms, activities. - The showers could be better - at some point boiling hot or freezing cold but rarely something in between. There is one or 2 showers where you can actually regulate the temperature :-) But apart from that the best place to be. Thank you Carola from Austria

we had four nights in jolly swagman. initially, i am worried after running through some bad reviews of the hotel eg: bad rooms v poor facilities, lots of night drunken etc. however, my overall stay is quite smooth and nothing much to complain given the cheap prices they charged. before arriving, i actually sent an email to jolly expressing my concern on the stay and hope to get rooms (we have 4 people and booked 2 double rooms) on the top floor to avoid all those noise from drunken. the reply is that they would try their best to arrange for us. on the day itself, upon arrival in sydney airport, the shuttle driver is very efficient to pick us up within 10 minutes. once arrived in jolly, they arranged two top floor’s rooms for us. one thing i am not satisfied with is that they don’t have lifts. we have to carry the luggage from ground floors to 3rd floors. but the staff was good enough that she asked if the other two young man stayed in the hostel could help to carry the luggage as we are all girls. after looking at the room, my mum commented that we would better choose 2nd floor’s rooms as it was pretty hot for top floor’s room. we are very lucky that the kind staff was willing to change the rooms for us

It is a good place in Sydney: cheap and good location. The kitchen in the evening is very dirty because the guys in the hostel they don't have any education about it. There is right that will be a fine of 50$ if you don't clean but at that time in the hostel there is any worker so no control. But all the rest is good and very nice atmosphere and the staff was very nice.

We loved this place! We made new friends in seconds and had a few amazing days at this place! Its a home away from home. A very cosy nice home :) Its not so big, so everyone knows each other and you are not just one in hunderts. the staff can help you out with everything, whether you want to go for a nice date or just get really pissed. Its all there. When you look for company at night you will find the cosy tv room or some beerpong outside. We had deep conversations smoking at the front door and got up at 5pm to watch soccer together. obviously the location is perfect, as its only a few steps away from kings cross station! if you look for a place that makes you feel home..this is the place for you! thank you Anthony for your amazing hospitality! With location so strategic within the city, one minute walk away from Kings Cross station and surrounded by lively neighborhood of Potts Point and Darlinghurst, it's really easy to go every where during our 3 days stays. Kings Cross is within the same line to Bondi and its only one bus ride away from the famous Opera House. We opt for private room with private bathroom, and I must say it's really value for money. You won't find private bathroom anywhere below $110/night within the area. Despite the building itself is very old, but the room is quite nice and new. We had some trouble with cockroach the first night, but otherwise it's quite clean. The shower is good with hot water, they had well working fridge, tv, and also electric heater for your morning coffee.

I did not have a lot of expectations as the price was low for Sydney. And if I was not disappointed I was surprised positively. Staff is friendly, breakfast is awesome (and free !) : pancake, milk, orange juice, bread jams, corns. It is open until 11am. Cleanness which was my biggest fear is really good. Everything is cleaned daily and room are deep cleaned twice per week (first time I get it in an hostel). Kitchen is ok, room are not the biggest but their are alright. There is a tv room with movies and video games. And if you like to party, it is possible every day. The hostel purpose access to club nearly every day. And it is to good club. I would definitively recommend this hostel only point is it is a good 30mns walk from cbd or you take train the train (you have to pay though).

Check in was smooth and fast. Staffs are all very friendly and willing to help out and guide me if i have any questions. Free wifi all over the hotel even in your own room. Free breakfast to keep you fuel for the day. Have daily activities to ensure that the night is not boring at all. All in all it is a very good experience and i am comfortable with it. The only bad thing that i can recall is that the bar opposite my room is noisy at night but the noise stop at 8pm and starts only after 6pm therefore it is not a big issue. They also provide free airport transfer to them if you stay over 4 nights but if you want to head back to the airport it costs $12. Also they are very friendly and will provide you things if you need them such as power adapter (subject to availability).

I had a great three night stay at Blue Parrot Backpackers. The hotel is conveniently located near Kings Cross station which makes it easy to get to and from the airport, into town and to Bondi Beach. The staff were super friendly and accommodating and had great recommendations for things to do in the city. The rooms were really clean and comfortable and all guest were really respectful of each other. Would definitely recommend this hostel.

simple and cosy room, bathroom was big, free-wifi was good. it's conveniently near to King Cross Station. no breakfast or in-house cafe, however, there are plenty of food outlets around. Potts Point is a red-light district, but it's definitely safe and the hotel location is not on the main street/area of such activities, hence, it was quiet and not much action. overall, value for money, nice room, great location

I would stay at the lodge again definitely and would highly recommend it to any traveler. The lodge is in the very quiet area of Potts Point (Kings Cross). The bus stop to the city center (Town Hall) is only about 1-2 min walk from the lodge, so most attractions are within 30 mins by bus and/or train. Also, grocery stores are nearby, so are restaurants for any budget. We took advantage of its location to the fullest; we enjoyed every moment of staying at the lodge. By the way, we staying at the lodge for 3 weeks. Lastly, I should like to thank Tracy the manager and Benoit the friendly French man for making our holiday in Sydney one of the best holidays ever!

We stayed for a week. Apartment is 3 stories up without a lift. The place was clean and apartment had all we needed but did not have air conditioning so it was necessaary to have windows open. Very loud street noise at location. Shower had no hot water. Took 3 calls, 2 emails and almost 2 days to fix. It did have a good location, close to train station and could walk most places.

If you want to be right in the tourist or central business district (CBD) thés probable isn't thé place, but it's only 20 minutes walk and half the price. Kings cross is on the one side (turn right out of hotel and walk straight) right on top of the somewhat funky and expensive (properties) reasonable (restos) Potts Point area, (sort of SoHo NY) but if you head the 50 metres round to the back it's Kings X like in London with some sleaze and grime, not so nice. Not far from trendy (and perhaps over-rated, good but not great) Paddington with its Saturday market. A 20 minutes walk, and a pleasant walk if you don't go the wrong way, from the CBD, head through Potts Point right down to the steps at the end and Wooloomoloo quay, across the domain and botanic gardens, round to the Opera. The hotel reception is on the first floor, you enter a ground level grey windowless space and take the lift up. It's security controlled as it should be) facilities are okay, rooms a decent size, bathrooms modern, all clean, all decent, it's just, however, characterless, just a functional space. But if you came to Sydney for the city and it's pleasures, and just want somewhere decent, functional but not funky, in an interesting and well connected if not swanky area, Mercure fits the bill at a more reasonable rate than many downtown places.

From the time I arrived I found the staff (owner) very helpful. The location is excellent, very close to Kings Cross with all of the bars and eating places it has to offer but not so close that the busy night life disturbs the hotel. The room I was in, although small had all of the facilities I needed and appeared to have been recently redecorated. Good value for the price paid

I originally booked with another service apartment about 2 blocks from Waldorf but switched in a heartbeat when I saw the size of the room! I did not regret the switch about 5 days before we flew to Australia. The atmosphere of the place is homey & cozy. Asif, who was at the front desk was very friendly & accomodating. We reserved 3 rooms & Asif was so nice to give us 2 connecting rooms. The room is spacious with a kitchenette, a beautiful wooden dining table which can easily accomodate 6 people, a big sofa, and the bathroom is clean, airy & large. It could use a bidet for the convenience of the guests. The beds are a tad too soft but we still managed to sleep soundly in the 7 days we stayed there. The breakfast is simple but adequate. The wifi worked perfectly for me. It was not bad at all. The location is wonderfully near the wharf. I will definitely recommend the waldorf Woolloomooloo in Potts Point to everyone. Great value for money
