This was my second time staying at Lone Pine, and it was even better than the first. From the moment I arrived, the service was warm and welcoming. I was pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a beautiful sea view room with a bathtub – such a thoughtful touch that truly made my stay extra special. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. I loved waking up to the view of the ocean – so peaceful and refreshing. The food was also consistently good, with a nice variety and great quality. What truly stood out was the kindness and attentiveness of the staff. They were friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to assist me. I accidentally left my sunshades in the lobby, and the staff quickly kept them safe for me until I returned to collect them. I also made a last-minute request for a birthday room decoration for my friend, and the team went above and beyond by preparing a lovely, complimentary setup with simple but thoughtful decorations and a cake – it made the celebration so memorable. We recently stayed at Lone Pine with our family and had a truly wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was top-notch. The staff were warm and welcoming, and we felt well taken care of throughout our stay. Our kids, aged 4 and 1, especially loved it. The pool was a highlight—beautifully shaded by tall trees, which made swimming comfortable even during the heat of the day. The hotel’s peaceful atmosphere, surrounded by greenery, added to the relaxing vibe. Breakfast was also delicious with a good variety each morning. A special shoutout to Ms. Murali, the manager, who often came by to greet us personally. Our daughter adored her and kept asking, “Where is Aunty?”—a sweet sign of the connection made. Ms. Murali even shared a discount code for the nearby butterfly farm, which we really appreciated. We also received great service from Shaiful at the concierge, who was helpful with our bags and gave us great local tips on where to eat and what to do as a family. Khairul from the Bungalow always greeted us with a smile every morning during breakfast—such a small gesture, but it really stood out. Overall, this was a fantastic stay and we wouldn’t hesitate to return. It was our second trip in a row to Batu Ferringhi—last year we stayed at ParkRoyal, but honestly, Lone Pine has won us over with its charm, exclusivity, and cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended for families or anyone looking for a peaceful getaway!

Stayed for 2 nights and got upgraded to a Deluxe Suite, which I believe is bigger than the one we originally booked. It comes with an additional room, but this was of no use to us. Unfortunately, our room was on the first floor, so we couldn’t see the sea, even though it was sea-facing, as it was blocked by the roof of another building. However, you’ll have privacy when using the outdoor bath or lazing on the day bed. Room was spacious and clean, including the bathroom area, with the usual amenities, plus complimentary mini bar. We were there recharging over the long weekend so we had a relaxing time just lounging in the comfort of the room. Breakfast spread and the pool was good. I think the hotel is lower dense, compared to its neighbour, so it felt less crowded even though there were guests around and the hotel grounds isn’t very big. Areas for improvement:- 1) It takes a long while for the hot water to come on, so you’ll be standing in the shower in the cold before you can go under the rainwater shower. 2) TV channels were limited, mainly local channels, with no movie option available.
Ok so I’m only one day into a 3 night stay but we are so happy with our decision to stay in this fabulous hotel. The breakfast was excellent with loads of great local flavours and western options. The poolside menu is also really good with a lot of interesting alcohol free options for refreshing fruity and herbal notes when in need of thirst quenching . The highlight though so far is our gorgeous balcony sunken bath where we just watched the sunset with a glass of wine - ugh I don’t want to leave! Only reason that I didn’t give 5 stars for location is because Batu Ferringhi doesn’t have the best beach - if you are expecting Crystal clear waters you will be bitterly disappointed. That’s no fault of the hotel of course and you would get no better anywhere else in this area.

“2 nights, 2 rooms; the quiet hotel along Batu Feringhi”
We a family of 5, stayed for 2 night, in 2x deluxe rooms. Location was excellent as its right smack in middle of batu feringhi near the Petronas junction, so close to the night market, and to other shops along the stretch, so getting food etc was only a short walk and a breeze. I'll go straight to good points: 1) large room sizes written as 55msq. 2) quiet hotel - no night bands, no loud music, no play ground or slides at swimming pool 3) staff don't make small talk 4) excellent Location 5) relatively small hotel so walking to parking wasn't far 6) breakfast at The Bungalow was spacious and not cramped 7) bath tubs / sink tubs on the balcony Not so good stuff: 1) first impressions could be better - from the parking to The Registry while bringing my bags and kids; 2 staff outside didn't acknowledge us (other hotels would assist to get our luggage, or direct us to the registration, maybe said staff was on their break though) 2) one table to register , another for the manager I suppose; gave off "headmistress" vibes coz "advising" the counter staff doing the registrations... I'd say do be tad careful with words .. she appeared too "bossy " on her staff.. you know maybe she can smile a bit at least, and hide any unhappiness a while 3) breakfast choice and taste was just okay, can't compete with surrounding hotels though - croissants not crispy or flaky but was too soft; karipap too not flaky - so felt like store bought or cooked in air fryer. Coffee machine touch screen not sensitive may need to have a check. No sugar restocked. Tables didn't have enough spoons or fork set. And the table next to mine with a foreign gentleman who I overheard just came for breakfast for his 3rd time.. got served more than then local uncle behind him whom seemed to askd for assistance.. 4) TV channels didn't have much choice; no in room movies at all 5) no connecting rooms; couldn't fit 5 in any of available rooms, couldn't get side by side rooms.. we got 2 rooms on same floor.. so 3 kids in one room, while wife and I in another , no biggie for us as eldest daughter supervised the other 2.. but for other families, it might be a challenge to stay together here Overall it was a good quiet stay; rooms were lovely, Location was excellent, restaurant lay out was okay, though food need to upgrade a bit , would appreciate some more tv channels and movies since not much other activities in the hotel, maybe could a games room, and maybe front staff could do with some smiles or be a bit more welcoming . For RM3K plus for 2 nights.. stay was quite good, especiallyif you just want to do nothing and rest.. but when comparing with other 4 star hotels in Batu Feringhi.. we'll probably go through the others again first then only come back here for a change
