The design, decor and attention to detail through this historic looking Langham as outstanding! This was matched with excellent helpful friendly informative service. Nice view over the water although the wharf construction lay down area is a bit distracting. Delicious lunch. Renowned art on the walls of the foyer. The best chocolate I’ve ever tasted as part of the in-room bar. Thanks for an amazing stay.

This was a real gem. The moment I walked in, the staff let me know that I was important and that they wanted my stay in Sydney to be enjoyable. The concierge took the time to quickly show me a map of local interests. Bathroom - clean and spacious, bedroom - clean and spacious, power points - many. It really annoys me when I have to hunt for a power point for the laptop/phone charger/ tablet... Tea/coffee available. Somewhere to put two suitcases. How many times do hotel rooms have a place for one suitcase but two people have two suitcases? I was staying in one of the less expensive rooms but would not know it. I had an American guest with me and she and I had a grand time in this hotel. We dined at the hotel and were very happy. Both of us have travelled extensively in Asia but the Sydney Intercontinental was a match for any of the best hotels in Tokyo, Bangkok or Singapore, etc. Well done management, well done staff. I am looking forward to the next time I stay there.

Our family of four (parents + two teens) stayed in a two-bedroom apartment suite with a fabulous view of the harbour, for 4 days. The location cannot be beat -- close to the harbour, the Rocks, shopping, train transport, etc. The view from our room was unbelievable, as it looked over the harbour, with the harbour bridge and the opera house right out front. The hotel staff members were quite helpful and nice. We ordered room service the first night, as we arrived late and walked to the hotel in the rain from the nearby train station. The food came promptly and was VERY good, although pricey (which is expected in a CBD-located hotel, I would think). The kitchen was well equipped, and it was great having a clothes washer/dryer available for our family. The only issue we had were that the instructions for the washer did not match the washer unit available in the room. We had to guess on how to use it. Also, the night we arrived was the night daylight saving time was changing. Some of the clocks in our room were set to one time, the others to another. This is a minor thing, but definitely confusing as we had traveled internationally and were unsure as to the time when we arrived. There is no free internet in the rooms, only in the lobby, and it was spotty, at best. For us, traveling as a family, this wasn't an issue. But, it would be frustrating for business travelers. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone with a family, looking for a place to stay that is less expensive than a standard hotel. Please note, there really isn't a supermarket/grocery store nearby. There are convenience stores in the Quay, but if you want more to purchase for breakfast or other meals to prepare in the apartment, you have to travel outside of the CBD.

Having spent three wonderful nights at the Sir Stamford at Circular Quay, I was very sad to leave. The hotel has the charm and personal service you expect from a bed and breakfast combined with all the amenities of a five star hotel. We were in Sydney to celebrate my sister's birthday and the hotel sent a bottle of champagne to her room. This thoughtfulness set the tone for our weekend. The concierge staff, particularly Troy, provided great advice on local sights to see and restaurants to enjoy. Each evening we were welcomed back to a warm fire burning in the huge fireplace in the lounge. The fire served the practical purpose of warming us up after the chill of the night air, but more importantly added to the atmosphere in the lounge: encouraging guests to linger, to chat and to relax. Our rooms had balconies overlooking the Botanical Gardens providing the perfect location to watch the sun rise over the harbor. The location of the hotel is excellent. It is only a few minutes walk to the Opera House, to restaurants and shops and is close to the train and ferries. The only downside was that wifi access is only free if you book through the hotel’s website, but this was minor when compared with the benefits provided. The Sir Stamford at Circular Quay was the perfect place for our long weekend and I hope to have the opportunity to enjoy their hospitality in the future!
