There was a Korean staff member at the check-in counter, which made me feel comfortable from the beginning of my trip. Her name was Min and she was very kind, allowing me to do an early check-in and a late check-out at the lake. 1. It's actually less scary to walk around Chinatown at night than Town Hall or QVB because it's more lively. 2. The tram is only a 2-minute walk from the accommodation. 3. The hair dryer in the room is very powerful and good. 4. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash amenities are all provided. 5. Wine glasses and regular glasses are both available. 6. The accommodation is very spacious for the price! It was great to have a desk to do makeup and a separate area to open my luggage. 7. Sydney is usually sunny, but there is a separate showerhead that you can hold (one of the things I noticed while looking for the accommodation). However, there are no slippers, toothbrushes, or toothpaste provided, so please bring your own!

When I checked in, I was very tired and didn't mention my membership, so the receptionist gave me an old room on the first floor that was not yet remodeled and had construction noise in the morning. If they upgraded the membership holders, it would be understandable, but I felt that it was not very considerate to give an old room and not even provide a bottle of water to non-members. The location was very good, so I managed to stay there for a while, but after I met a kind Korean staff member and complained, I felt better. They immediately found my membership number and provided me with two bottles of water. It may not be a big deal, but it was my first time staying at a Holiday Inn where they didn't even provide a bottle of water.

The hotel is in a great location, right around the corner from fabulous restaurants in Chinatown and a short walk to Darling Harbour. It's also close to public transportation. I've stayed at this hotel many times. The only negative thing I have to say this time is housekeeping took our towels and didn't replace them and didn't replenish our tea and coffee. Apart from that, everything was great. The bed and pillows were amazing!

I gave them my IHG member number but did not give me my platinum member welcome rewards. Room door sometimes would not shut unless you pull it shut. Door needs repair. Room service did not vaccum our room but made the beds and cleaned the bathroom only. One day they did not even clean our room. We had the sign out for cleaning. Location is great though. Food food and more food shops are around. Multitude of shopping options within walking distance. Staff is friendly but did not use other amendities besides the laundry room. There could be more washing machine and dryers for a hotel that size.
