We had a great stay at Cape Royale. The service was fantastic, the suite more than spacious and the location perfect. The only negative points are 1. The swimming pool ( could not swim because it was not clean)... Even our kids did not want to swim. Hopefully it was only that day and they may have clean it later but we never went back on the roof top... 2. The breakfast buffet could have been better than that for a 5 star Hotel. But, overall, it was a great stay.

if you do not want to bother reading the following long review, just make sure you get my abbreviated stand on this hotel: outstanding in every respect. if i really want to nitpick, the only thing missing is a fitness center. otherwise, this is indeed a true 5-star hotel, as advertised. the food, the staff, the rooms, the service, the tours and the location score full marks. i stayed with my family of four (myself, my teenage brother, and my parents) in this 3-storey, 7-room boutique hotel in june 2012, for 7 nights. location: you might or might not yet have heard of the v&a waterfront. this waterfront is the equivalent of san francisco’s fisherman’s wharf and sydney’s waterfront. the hotel is located 10 (if you walk briskly) or 20 (if you amble slowly) minutes away from the v & a. either way, it is a very manageable walk to the waterfront. we walked a dozen times to and fro from the waterfront to the hotel at all times of the day (the latest we ever walked back was around 8 at night), and safety-wise, there was absolutely no problem. besides the waterfront, the 2010 world cup stadium is also the same distance away. there are restaurants, fast-food places and a supermarket at the waterfront, so everything we needed was within easy reach. staff: they were friendly, accommodating and warm. because of its friendly team, i am able to recall the names of those i interacted with during my stay: the owners, marc and riaan; cindy, de wade, gary, nkosi, oncemore, and serenity. the hotel: the interior design is elegant, contemporary, yet cozy. the sitting area, for instance, was furnished exquisitely with coffee table tomes; the sofas were comfortable; and the lights were warm and welcoming. you could actually spend an hour or two just sitting there and flipping through the books. the rooms: the rooms were huge, and the bathroom was just amazing. imagine a bathroom that is almost half the size of the already spacious room, and you are looking at the sug

We spent 6 nights at the beginning of November in the Look Out Suite and had an amazing time. We are a couple in our mid thirties who typically stay in larger five star boutique chain hotels (Like the One&Only) but decided to take a chance on Tree House based on the excellent reviews and exceptional value. We were not disappointed. Our room was huge with both a terrace and balcony overlooking the waterfront. It was extremely spacious with floor to ceiling windows, an extremely comfortable bed and was well stocked with high end local bath amenities. What set this property apart was the staff. Everyone went out of their way to ensure our stay was exceptional. From recommending activities to booking dinner reservations there was no request that was too much. Breakfasts were fantastic with a great selection of cold items (fresh fruit, cheeses, cold cuts, cereal and yogurts) as well as a fresh to order hot menu with lots of selection so we never got bored. A lovely boutique hotel run by some wonderful people. From the moment of arrival to departure we were well attended throughout. The room was very comfortable and clean: a nice touch was the USB charging point at the base of each bedside lamp. Bathroom was also well fitted though the water took some time to run hot. There was also a lovely sheltered terrace, ideal for a sundown glass of wine! Breakfast was equally as good with an excellent choice of fare. Thank you to Denis and Daisy the Cat for making our stay so memorable!

My friend and I spent 11 days at The B.I.G. in March and April. I've stayed at a lot of different hostels all around the world, but this has been the best one yet. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, especially Linda and Amy, was incredible. We were always greeted with a smile and the staff went out of their way to make sure we were having a great time. They were always eager to help us with our plans for the day and provided us with countless invaluable tips and pointers regarding tours, restaurants, bars and clubs. It was easy to talk to other guests at The B.I.G. and find nice people to tag along with on outings. The breakfast on offer was terrific. With a selection of different joghurts, mueslis, eggs, toast and fresh fruits. For dinner we either made use of the well-equipped kitchen, went out or joined one of the theme events, like the South African BBQ night, which was amazing. Our twin room was cleaned every day (thanks to the great cleaning staff) and the cozy bed made for a good night of sleep. We always felt safe at the hostel and in Greenpoint. The front door had a key pad and there were cameras in the public areas. There was a Spar store within walking distance and in the evenings we often shared a taxi with a number of people for food/drinks in the city. We can recommend this hostel whole-heartedly and hope to be back one day. We miss you guys and would like to say thanks for a wonderful time in Cape Town. Best wishes from Cologne, Kerstin

Beautiful, smart guesthouse we arrived very early ahead of check in and not only were we warmly welcomed by the owners, they were kind enough to rustle up some breakfast for us which was much appreciated, thank you Fantastic suite with a balcony, breakfast was always fresh and tasty and pool looked very inviting although we didn't have time to try it out sadly we hired a car so was easy to get around - this guesthouse is just outside the main city area but there are buses at the end of the road and taxis are cheap Thank you and look forward to seeing when we visit Cape Town again - and we will!

We recently stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights and were pleasantly surprised by the modern decor and spacious guest rooms. We had a room facing the front of the hotel and although it was noisy outside due to the Norway/South Africa soccer match going on at the nearby stadium the rooms double glazing stopped the noise from being an annoyance.The hotel is about a 15 minute walk to the V&A Waterfront as well as very centrally located for city sightseeing. The staff were very friendly and helpful specially when there was a slight problem with our booking. The pool was out of action during our visit but we weren't fussed as we hadn't planned on using it.

The location is brilliant. We walked everywhere. From Greenpoint to V&A Waterfront it took about 20 minutes. We also walked from the hotel all the way along to coast to Camps Bay (approx 8km). The room was comfortable and had exactly what you need from a base. There is a lovely pool out the back. We didn’t use this as we were out all the time, but it was well kept and had beds around it. Breakfast was lovely. Continental choices and then an a la carte that you could pick a cooked breakfast from. Well cooked and service excellent. All in all, a great hotel in a great location. Staff were really friendly and helpful.

Oxford Hotel were a treat, when we arrived, the staff meeting us there were super friendly and informative she even offered to take our luggage into our room as we were there a tad to early for our booking. We decided walk to the VNA Waterfront and later that night at about 19:00 we walked back and our luggage were in our rooms. The room we booked were quite spacious and the bed were big and comfy. The bathroom had a shower with an okay shower head and it had a bath, I used the shower. the kitchen utensils were great there is a pod coffee maker an toaster and a microwave and a little sink. All and all if you want a peaceful nights rest and hit the city in the day, Oxford Hotel is perfect for you!

My fiancé and I stayed at the Anchor Bay Guest House for its convenient distance from all the top restaurants in Sea Point. We had a nice stroll down to the promenade and had a fantastic dinner at Sotano. The whole experience was a delight. From the host greeting us at the door and showing us the room and facilities to the Nespresso coffee instead of powder coffee. We also got a complementary bottle of white wine to enjoy whilst looking at the amazing Sea Point skyline...sea and pretty lights. Worth every sent and so much more!

From the moment we booked and contacted staff to request a earlier breakfast if we could due to 8am starts, they were accomodating and friendly. The chef came in early, the waitress was gorgeous and they were just so happy to help. I would stay here again, and I am a very fussy traveller! This was a wonderful stay, the room large, light and airy and very comfortable, couch in the room etc. Loved it.

We walk-in there for staying one night. We searched via Agoda and picked this B&B because the price shown in agoda is good. When we arrived, we tried to asked for a similar price since we do not have sufficient data to make booking via agoda. However, the staff said it was impossible to do the discount as cheap as what we saw in Agoda. What a stubborn staff. Finally we used extra data to book thru Agoda. In relation to the enviorment, it was really nice. Silent, and comfortable. Although staff is stubborn, they are nice. They offered free welcome coffee and cookies when we check-in. And we used the kitchen to wash our own thing. P.S. they served free Breakfast Buffet and it was not bad as well.

We stayed in total three nights at Gordon’s Guest House in February. Although not in the heart of the city, it is conveniently located on a quiet street in Green Point close to transport, and only a walk to the stadium and V&A Waterfront. Our room was very spacious, with a full bathroom right outside the door. Both were tastefully decorated and a welcome place to come back to after a long day’s sightseeing. The service was perfect - personal without being intrusive. Gordon greeted us outside the entrance on arrival, and showed us to our room. He was helpful in assisting us whenever the need arose, which also included a short drive down to the Waterfront one evening! Without hesitation, we would stay with Gordon again if in Cape Town. Great value for money at a great location!

Our stay at Villa Zest Boutique was nothing short of fantastic. From check in through to check out, all of the staff were helpful and attentive even making us an early breakfast pack to take on our flight out of Cape Town. The hotel and out room was kept spotless with little things like what the weather was to be the next day left on notes as part of the turndown. Recommendations on restaurants, sights, best times for activities were all forthcoming from all of the staff. We felt so welcome and made our trip to Cape Town. Will definitely be back.

The guesthouse is located in Green Point a few minutes to the waterfront. The decor is simple and partly worn. We had the bathroom directly in the room without separation, this was very uncomfortable. The room was clairaudient, without air condition with a mini tv and very expensive. The owner comes only to check in and cash in...../ Das Guesthouse liegt in Green Point wenige Minuten zur Waterfront. Die Einrichtung ist simple und teilweise abgewohnt. Wir hatten das Badezimmer direkt im Raum ohne Abtrennung, das war unangenehm. Das Zimmer war hellhörig, ohne Airkondition mit einem Mini Fernseher und dafür sehr teuer. Die Besitzerin kommt nur zum einchecken und Geld kassieren.
