"My friend and I stayed in a twin room with an ensuite- a nice, comfortable room for a hostel. (Some kind of soap holder would have been appreciated in the shower, though the bathroom was clean and water pressure was good!). All the accomodation in Sydney was very pricey during the weekend of the stay- given the fact, the cost of the room was reasonable. Beds were quite comfortable (double bed + trundle), there was a tv in the room (but no wifi) and the hostel is in a great location. Staff were friendly and we also appreciated the 'cinema' room, which has nightly movie screenings. There are also lockers downstairs where you can put your belongings after checkout ($4 for the first 4 hours and then $2 for the next 4 I think). The staff also helped us to book a YHA discount for the Aquarium. Unfortunately it was quite noisy on Saturday night (seemed mostly to be coming from drunks and hoons on the main road) but Sunday night was much quieter. Would stay there again if on a budget!"

"had to book a hotel in sydney in a hurry. after going through hundreds of hotels in various websites i decided to book 'devere hotel'in potts point. probably i was lucky to get a really good deal. per night for a single room suited my budget well (believe me sydney hotels are expensive). i was not impressed by the comments about this hotel but decided to take a chance. location is convenient. 500m to the kings cross railway station and the bus stop is right in front of the hotel. woolworths across the road (and coles situated 500m away) is always handy. room was quite satisfactory, bed was comfortable, reverse cycle ac keeps you warm in winter, hot water was great and housekeeping was good. reception was great at helping the customers. unable to comment on food as i could not eat from the restaurant. if only they provided free wifi ....but none of the sydney hotels give you free wifi (except backpackers) overall i was really impressed by the quality of the hotel and the room considering the price. hope that they would maintain the good standard so that i would not have to hesitate in choosing devere hotel next time around in sydney. "Travelodge Sydney Hotel is perfect for first time visitors to Sydney, returning visitors and the like. It's easily accessible location ( from the airport) and closeness to everything makes it the perfect hotel. Trains were only a few minutes walk away (Museum Station), buses, monorail and light rail were also within short walking distance. Rooms were adequately sized and well equipped, they also included Foxtel channels. The hotel is very close to Chinatown, World Square and Paddy's Markets/Market City so it makes it very easy to find something to eat or a place to shop. Overall I enjoyed my stay at Travelodge Sydney Hotel and I will definitely stay there again if I returned to Sydney!"

"Never had a room that could just fit a bed, and still have a shower tucked in the corner closed off by a black curtain. Tiny... The hotel is close to the airport - and is cheap. The restaurant attached to the hotel does some great food! Maybe look at a bigger room if your going to take this one..."

"I am glad that my family decided to stay at Mercure Sydney Hotel. It was an additional pleasant experience for my vacation in Sydney. The concierge team was very helpful. The room was clean. I like the ideas of providing a variety of pillows on a bed – very comfortable. I also like a lamp on the table. Unlike some hotels, it is bright enough for me to read books."

"My stay was good. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The rooms are nice and the hotel is in great shape. Can't beat the location on Darling Habor (highly recommend a room with a harbor view). My only down comment applies to all hotels in Sydney and Australia - the price of breakfast (AU$30 for continental and AU$35 for full) is outrageously expensive."

"Felix hotel is certainly worth the money you pay. It's cheaper compared to other hotels and yet, their service is one of the best out there. The hotel has a modern vibe. The rooms are bigger than most in Sydney, and their TV, it's just cool! Not to mention, it's also one of the cleanest hotels ever. No regrets in staying here. On my next visit to Sydney, I will certainly book in this hotel again!"

"I booked a one night stay here for my birthday and I'm really happy I chose this hotel. I got a great deal: the Stay, Park and Play which included parking and breakfast. At check-in, the staff were lovely and upgraded my room to a park-view instead of a city side room. I had originally booked a king bed but the upgrade was a room with 2 singles. I called to enquire if housekeeping could remake the bed as one as I easily pushed them together but for some reason they couldn't. I don't really understand why not.. Also, the bath had some dirty marks around the outside and on the edge but apart from these two things everything else was great. The pool and spa facilities are gorgeous and the view is incredible. I do wish they were open a little later than 9pm but I enjoyed the time I had. The buffet breakfast was insane! I'm not usually worried very much with breakfast but as it was included, I decided to check it out. I'm so glad I did, it was SO good. So many healthy and decadent options, I can't speak highly enough about the variety and quality of what was on offer. I wish wifi was included in the rooms, but it's unfortunately pretty standard for it not to be in Sydney hotels. I hope this changes soon, we're very behind the rest of the world in this regard. Wifi was available in the lobby and where the breakfast buffet was, so I was able to use it then. I'll definitely be staying here again. "
