Traveling to Cambodia? Find Phnom Penh hotels

This hotel was recommended to me by a fellow traveller so I booked 4 nights at the Okay Boutique hotel in Phnom Penh. I was glad that I took his advice because this is a stylish and quirky hotel in a great location near to the heart of the old town and riverside. I have stayed in a number of hotels in Asia during my 4 month tour that are new buildings constructed and designed to look like old hotels, from a bygone era. I was astonished to learn that the Okay Hotel is relatively new but I would defy anyone to realise that. The architecture and internal finishing are quite astonishing and I felt that I was in an old colonial building full of marble and aged mahogany staircases. It has a superb top floor swimming pool and bar area with great views over the old city. The staff were welcoming and provided helpful advice and guidance. The room was large, clean and comfortable. Only gripe -I found the breakfast a little disappointing given the overall excellence of this hotel.

We travel everywhere. And we travel a lot. I'm here to let you know that a) this hotel has everything you could possibly be searching for in Phnom Penh -- competent and caring staff, beautifully designed rooms, first class service, exceptional breakfasts, and a location that cannot be beat. I have to file this disclaimer: The hotel did not -- I repeat. did not -- pay me to write this. We intend on returning to Phnom Penh. Any guesses as to where we're choosing to stay?

I stayed in Essence Hotel for 3 nights during my trip in Phnom Penh. The location is good, on Monivong Boulevard. You can visit the most majority of famous site of Phnom Penh by feet if you like walk. Rooms are cleans and spacious. Food and breakfast is good too. Hotel is calm and you can relax easiler after a day trip in Phnom Penh. And to finish the review, the most important positive point on this hotel is the staff. They are amazing: very nice, kind and always ready to help you. It was a pleasure to stay on this hotel.

The Aquarius was an oasis of calm in bustling Phnom Penh, just a newly opened hotel, still some work going on but it's out of the way of my room, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The highlight was the infinity rooftop pool which was gorgeous especially in the night time. The location is situated in the city’s’ main shopping and dining area at the street 240, with just a few minutes’ walk from Royal Palace, National Museum and Independence Monument. Staffs are very helpful and friendly. I will not be surprised if sooner it will become one of the famous hotel in Phnom Penh, definitely it's going to be a great hotel! Would certainly recommend this hotel.

Set just back off a main road Harmony Phnom Penh Hotel offered a unique view into the many contradictions of Phnom Penh. Sitting at breakfast overlooking the crystal chandelier adorned foyer we could easily see the local vendors of the street market selling their wares. Fruits, vegetables, fish, meats, nuts and seeds some easily identifiable and others not so. It was evident that many families lived where their stall was and their homes may not have been more than a hammock and hotplate and yet the happiness was palpable. From the rooftop pool and lounge was undoubtedly the best view of Phnom Penh. In front was the vast rivers, behind the city scape and below the street scape. All different, varying degrees of rich and poor and yet so beautiful in their own unique way. Our room was quite compact and had a wonderful balcony that made it feel bigger than it was but well outfitted and very comfortable. The location was close to many attractions and staff very helpful and friendly

The hotel was great... it was an oasis in Phnom Penh. Walk distance from Royal Palace and National Museum. My plan included breakfast and a massage. The room was roomy with a shower booth and cute amenities.... also welcome fruits was included... in the classy European style atmosphere. Also the staff was so nice especially the staff at the entrance. They helped me a lot to get a ride (tuktuk or taxi). I would definitely come back to the hotel at my next visit to Phnom Penh... as long as they keep their facilities and service at this cost.

It was relaxing, comfortable, and enjoyable. Internet acccess is available either in the lobby or in the room. Food service is well served at the restaurant with a variety of foods. Coffee corner provides tasty drink. The sky bar is a wonderful place on the top of the hotel with a fantastic view of the city. The gym, spa, sonar, and swing poll are well served and equipped. All staff are helpful and friendly. It would be strongly recommended that it is considered one of the top recommended hotels in Phnom Penh.

I highly recommend this hotel when in Phnom Penh This is a nice new hotel really good location in the centre of the town with easy access to all sights. The staffs are very friendly & helpful. They showed exceptional service The room was nicely designed and very comfortable. I love the tropical design And the rooftop pool & restaurant is just lovely and has awesome panorama view of Phnom Penh. I want to say Thank You for making my stay in Phnom Penh worthwhile and memorable. Hotel Tip: The hotel is very new, so you can get an upgrade room, If they have an available room. We were lucky got an free upgrade to a better room. You can try also…

Lovely modern interiors/exteriors but retaining a classical period charm with an indisputable French feel to the establishment. Rooms cater for longer term residents with kitchen/cooking facilities. Views sumptuous from balconies over Phnom Penh from a quiet and safe side street. Only minor quibble would be breakfast, lack of fruit varieties on offer (no mangos , papayas, bananas which are plentiful in Cambodia), and although attempting to cater for both Asians and Western tastes, the offering somehow didn't get it right either way as it was trying to please all tastes. Definitely a breakfast more geared up for European sensibilities - croissant, yoghurts, wheat cereal etc. Fried Rice and Egg noodles both disappointing. No evening restaurant service but plenty of choice in Phnom Penh and delivery to room feasible. Khmer staff extremely welcoming, courteous and friendly. Would stay again and recommend.

This hotel is my go to hotel in Phnom Penh. I have stayed in many high class hotels but this is the one that has the cleanest rooms and the most amazing staff. They will always accommodate your requests and are always making sure your stay is comfortable. It's not in the tourist area which is way better because you're not assaulted by tuk tuk and Moto drivers when you walk out the door but there are plenty of tuk tuks around to take. I recommend this hotel 100 percent.

Our stay at the hotel was awesome! Fantastic pool on ground level, spa and roof top bar with the view of the city was excellent. The breakfast food, service and presentation was of high quality. Our room was clean and the bed comfortable. The staff were friendly from the moment we arrived until we checked out. Any request or question was dealt with immediately and nothing was too much trouble. The location to the Russian market was good, a 5 minute walk. We would def go back to the hotel next time we are in Phnom Penh.

I live in Cambodia and have visited Phnom Penh many times. I have actually walked past the Frangipani numerous times, but didn't notice it. It's location couldn't be any better for my interests. From the minute I walked into the lobby I was struck by the thoughtfulness of the designer. Much attention was given to the importance of light. This is true in the lobby, our particular room, the restaurant and even the rooftop pool area. For instance, our room had only one standard window, but the amount of natural light in the room was wonderful. On the other hand, in the evening the ceiling lights were kind of subdued which promoted a feeling of relaxation when the guest might have returned after a long day doing tourist activities or attending business meetings. The staff were politely friendly and eager to help. The pool is a good size and there are blooming frangipani trees all around the deck.....you could smell their wonderful aroma. There is also a small (6pp?) Jacuzzi next to the main pool. Our WiFi, bathroom features, cable TV and refrigerator were fine. The breakfast was buffet which is not my cup of tea, so to speak, but the quality of the food they offered was above average, in my opinion. You can't beat the location. The Frangipani is less than 100 meters from the National Museum, the Royal Palace grounds, several interesting art galleries and the Riverfront with its many restaurants and nightlife venues. All in all, the Frangipani became my favorite hotel to stay at when I'm in Phnom Penh, it's a great value. ONE TIP: Our room (#705) is just below part of the breakfast buffet in the morning. Around 10:00 P.M. the staff were moving furniture to set up the buffet for the morning and it was noisy for maybe 10 minutes. It didn't bother us, but you might keep it in mind if noise is a problem for you.

I have stayed at many of the hotels in Phnom Penh, including all of the big name hotels. A few years ago I stayed in the White Mansion Boutique Hotel, and I decided to never stay in any other hotel in Phnom Penh ever again. The White Mansion Hotel is the best in PP, and it is the little touches they add to your stay that make it such a memorable experience such as the essential oil infused towels, scent diffuser in the rooms, turn down service, warm and wonderful staff, welcome drink and cold towel, beautiful serene pool, and the best breakfast you can get in SE Asia at the in-house Eric Kaiser bakery. I cannot day enough good things about the breakfast there!!! White Mansion has my loyalty for life.

A small boutique hotel with very helpful staff. The staff are professional and quite receptive to the needs of the clients. Breakfast is good but it could be improved since most of its main meals were rice based perhaps catering to its clients choices. Had meal in the restaurant but stayed with Asian and local fav and these were excellent. Management was exceptional and even offered a free transfer to the airport. The location is rather isolated however this is easily compensated by the fact there is mall close by. Not a problem get around in Phnom Penh.

We booked our stay here for a brief respite from the city where we work, without having to leave the city. We enjoyed the greenery and the garden feel to the outside space. The pool is very nice even though it's located in front of the hotel, by the main entrance. The artwork throughout the building is tasteful and pleasing. The breakfast buffet is quite nice and offers a wide variety of choices. The rooms are very nice, the bed comfortable. I especially liked the shower - the water comes out of the ceiling! It's like a waterfall. There are sufficient electrical outlets throughout the room. The WiFi was good, but sometimes faded, depending on where we were in the room, and which device we were using. We would've appreciated more places to put luggage and our stuff (like tables or luggage stands). There could've also been more places to hang wet towels and clothes. But, for a small hotel in Phnom Penh, this place is above average for the price range of their rooms. We will definitely consider staying here again, and would not have any reservations in recommending this hotel to anyone.

Being first time in Phnom Penh we don't know what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised by the locals & their hospitality. Also, Phnom Penh has come a long way since the war & the peolple have moved on for a better life but the memories are still there esp. when we visited the Genocide Museum & the Killing Fields; a very moving & emotional experience for me & my son. My son loves the simple way of life of the cambodians & he's already talking about going back to visit with his friends. It has been indeed a very enriching experience for him. Thank you to the people of Cambodia.

After travelling about 10 days in Seam Riep and Sihanouville it was a relief to find this quiet, clean, very well located hotel in Phnom Penh. Breakfast was excellent and the little restaurant next door (I think belonging to the same owner) was also very good. I cannot think of any negative points regarding this hotel. I can only say it is not an international 4 Stars hotel standard, but surely a very good 3 stars with excellent service and very professional staff.

I've stayed at the Dara Airport Hotel quite a number of times. It's clean, modern, has good size rooms, a good fitness facility, and a great breakfast. It is a little more expensive than most hotels in Phnom Penh, but for the people I meet with in this city, it is well located (near the airport). It is adjacent to a small mall with some shopping and food. The only possible downside (mainly in the view of tourists) is that it is quite a ways away from the city center, where most of the restaurants and shopping is. I stay here because the traffic is awful and it can take more than an hour to get through the city. So, if you're not here to shop, I highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed just one night on Saturday. This hotel is located near River Side area, Central Market, Golden Sorya Mall and Wat Phnom. It's very good place to walk around the downtown of Phnom Penh city. The room is clean, the complementary is 2 stick coffee, 2 green tee bags and 2 bottle of water. there was bath robe and also a washing machine and detergent(Pay 1USD). I'm not sure there are a washing machine in every room but the fee of this hotel is not so expensive, it would be useful for long-stayers. It was almost perfect for me except breakfast. Breakfast of this hotel is few menu, so i thought it's better to have breakfast at another restaurant. Anyway, if you hope to enjoy Phnom Penh city, I recommend this hotel.

Spent 5 Nights and was impressed with the modern designed 2 bedroom apartment. Although it was only slightly smaller than what i expected from the picture is was still very acceptable. Facilities were all in good conditions. Considering the fact that it is a new apartment some of the staff are a little reactive rather then proactive in their services, however i would expect this to change with experience over time. Overall I would not hesitate to recommend people to stay at this apartment as it provides great value for money in comparison to the 5 star hotels you would find in Phnom Penh.

Look no further for the best value for money hotel in Phnom Penh that also delivers a well rounded hotel experience. This hotel is absolutely great and has a relaxing atmosphere. The staff is friendly, warm and funny! They will go to great length to accommodate your requests. I once wanted food past 3am and the front desk organized the night guard to go get it for me... Priceless! Those are the little things (not so little) that you don't forget... Also, I found it incredibly convenient that they would keep my luggages while I was traveling around the country. The standard room is a bit small, but rather than that it is very welcoming, warm and clean. Housekeeping is also great, always available to make your room even if later during the day. So nice of them! Finally, the food is good , not to mention they make one of the best Pad Thais I've ever had! Finally, the pool... a real beauty. Small, but barely treated and with salt water... trust me, this place has everything you need!!!

the phnom penh hotel was the best hotel in phnom penh went i first went there in 2006. it is a well located hotel with good food and amenities. the main operational staff are very helpful and friendly (but not so much the managers). unfortunately, the hotel is starting to become run down i.e. the building is not being maintained e.g. many large chips in the hallway tiles, bedroom side tables removed and not replaced after becoming damaged, stains on walls not removed, etc. despite this, i would still recommend it for the time being with the deals through agoda being attractive.

Location is essential in Phnom Penh, this location was perfect. Safe but near some nice bars. The rooms were okay but not amazing however I get the distinct feeling that these rooms were luxury compared to the rest of Phnom Penh hotels. Staff were nice. Were mosquito's in the room regularly however you get that everywhere in Cambodia and it was my own fault for not telling the staff who i'm sure would have sorted the issue. Very enjoyable hotel stay. Wouldn't return to Phnom Penh again but if I did then I would definitely stay here.

We've stayed at many places in Phnom Penh, but this hotel is definitely a new favourite. We loved so many things about it: the decor, the outdoor bar, the location, the lovely staff. The restaurant menu is really interesting and everything we had was delicious (who knew buffalo would be so tasty!). The balcony room was clean and comfortable. We had an air con issue in the first room we checked into, but were moved into another room when this was pointed out with no problem at all. The drains are a bit smelly, but this is normal for Cambodia. The hotel is locally owned and run which is another thing we love about it. We'll be back!
