"Hostel is located right in the heart of the CBD, so a very central location. Staff are really lovely and accommodating, even was lucky enough to be upgraded to a 2 bed dorm for 3 out of the 4 nights I stayed. Hostel is clean and cheerful, and beds are very comfortable. Only negatives I would say is that the central location does make it extremely noisy, I am a heavy sleeper but was constantly woken by the church bells ringing nearby. Also the swipe cards are extremely sensitive, I was locked out twice and another guest staying had to get her card reactivated 5 times!Given that the hostel is only open 8am - 10pm you are screwed if this happens out of hours. Overall a good hostel in Hobart."

"The hotel locates in the very center of Hobart CBD, surrounded by various shops and restaurants. The design and decor in the building & room is modern and new. The mattress is very comfortable also. Although there is no parking space available, the hotel does offer valet parking, costing $25 which is reasonable. Overall we had wonderful experience."

"I tried two hotels in Hobart and I think this is the best in terms of the location and price. It only takes 5 mins walk to the bus station to Launceston and 7 mins walk to the pier. You can book local tour at the front desk. This is very helpful for tourist. I would try it again if I go to Hobart. "

"I'm so happy to stay at Montacute for 2 nights and it's the best backpacker hostel I've ever been to! Everything is very clean and tidy. People are nice and quiet at night. I had very good deep sleep. Also, the owners are very friendly and not just run their family business for money only. They take care of backpackers. For example, beds are very comfty and high quality Tasmanian made bed linens are provided. This bunkhouse is always fully booked so don't miss the chance if you see any available room. I stayed in Hobart for 3 nights but couldn't book this for 1 night :("

"We snuck away for a late planned 3 day weekend and were fortunate the hotel had capacity for us (there were several conferences on). We stayed in a Superior Harbour View room the first night and a Superior Mountain View room the second night. Both were very spacious and comfortable with great views and good wifi (if your budget allows go for the Superior Harbour). It's not the trendiest hotel in Hobart, but we were pleasantly surprised at how nice the indoor pool and gymnasium were and the buffet breakfast was great. To cap this off the staff were extremely friendly and very accommodating. We would have enjoyed our long weekend in Hobart regardless, but the quality of the service and facilities on offer at the Grand Chancellor made this a really memorable visit."

"After reading many negative reviews I decided to try it nevertheless because of the casino at the base. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of service beautiful peaceful surroundings good choice of restaurants and activities available. The birdcage had live music every night. They have expanded their casino although small it is adequate. Our room was an executive which had been refurbished and directly overlooked the water. It was 5 star. My only compliant is that although I arrived at 2pm I was unable to check in because the room wasn't ready until 1430 and I had asked for elevation and received 5th floor from a choice of 16. That simply isnt good enough however I was given complimentary drink each while we waited. In my opinion its the best place to stay in hobart."

"Lovely hotel in Hobart. Some reviews have really knocked the Rydges but I found it be comfortable, quiet and good value. I do agree that a renovation is due and the room staff were not exactly attentive to details (bed not made after first night) but all in all a nice place to stay. Only real downside for me was the lack of reasonable dining and a supermarket within walking distance."

"The Best Western Hobart is in an excellent location and it's an easy walk to everywhere. The bathroom is very small and the whole room is a bit dated and worn, however the bed is super comfy.
