Bintan Island hotels & places to stay

Good location around 6 mins walk from Ferry terminal, room facing the sea, below of hotel, you can find a coffee shop that are selling drink and finger foods, staff are polite and nice, room are spacious, but facility are bit old, the first night, the broadsheet is not clean, obviously let me check in to unclean room, but i'm tired so i just ignore, the second time i check in after my tip, the room is clean.

We travel to Bintan as a couple. This is actually our second trip. On our first trip we came through BBT, which is the port at the resort and it is pretty much the secluded part of the island. For this time, we want to see the people and the city. And we are so lucky to find Panorama, it is quite close to the port & the city. Even if it is close, the hotel also gives complementary shuttle service. Motorbike rental is also available at the hotel. So on this trip we can travel by motorbike around the city and really see the people. The staffs are very helpful, the food in the restaurant are just nice, the room is clean. Though the room is a bit small, they have hot running water & cable tv

This hotel was great! Since it was so cheap (twin rooms = 1 person S$20 per night) we didn't expect very much. Pelangi surprised us with its chalet style rooms and the facilities - such as the pool and the gardens. What I was most impressed with was the excellent customer service. The staff are pleasant, friendly and willing to go the extra mile to make sure you have a great trip in Bintan. It was the Hari Raya season and Bintan was abuzz with activity. The hotel staff would recommend good shopping spots and great night markets. The free shuttle bus service saved us so much money. While Pelangi is out of the way and there's not much to see around, the shuttle bus will take you anywhere in Tanjung Pinang, and pick you up afterwards. The only issue is that you have to borrow a phone to call the hotel. The staff speak little to no English, but there are some, like the effusive and helpful manager Lily Tan, who speak Mandarin and Teochew. This is the same in all of Bintan - knowing Mandarin and Teochew is essential to get around. The hotel also offers many package deals for trips out to Trikora or Bintan resorts. We went on the Trikora deal but switched to the Bintan resorts one after a while and the staff were very gracious about it and allowed us to make the change. They staff are also very honest and willing to go the distance. I left my ring in the hotel room after checking out and was already on their shuttle to the ferry when I realised it. I actually decided against going back to collect it since it would cost us precious time and we might miss the ferry. However, the lovely manager Ms Tan called the driver and told me she had found my ring in the room, and offered to send it over with another driver. I was truly grateful. All in all, I had a great time in Bintan, hassle free because of the shuttles and heap deals offered by the hotel. I highly recommend Pelangi Hotel and Resort to anybody looking for a cheap getaway in the local area of Tanjung Pinang!

We booked this resort on Wednesday and came to Bintan Island on Friday afternoon, so we missed the time to book some resort in the northern area for that weekend, but thanks to Laguna Restaurant and Resort, we really enjoyed our weekend on Bintan Island. We booked this hotel since it offers inexpensive price and possesses the beautiful view along the Tikorah Beach. We were really happy to see others' positive reviews and I will also give it a thumb up. From the ferry station, it takes about 1 hour to reach the resort, so compared to the well developed northern resorts, this is definitely a more natural and quieter place to stay. And actually all the rooms are booked fully on this weekend, suggesting a more vivid resort than I thought. They offer scooter rental at a local fair price, fishing, billiards, kayaking for free. The host is a nice man, he is willing to talk with us and impressed us when he helped to find the lost wallet of my friend which was left on a taxi. back to the accommodation, we have never been stayed on wooden blocks, which are blown by the fresh sea wind, and the environment is very comfortable. we are also okay with the indoor environment, however it does not go well when the rain comes. the door leaks the rain inward. All the foods are great tasty and not expensive. staff are very nice to us, and we really hope the resort is doing better and better.

We were a group of 5 French girls working in Singapore and wanting a low cost trip for Good Friday. We had a wonderful stay at Bintan Hotel Nirwana ! Firstly, the hotel will arrange free transportation for you when arriving at Tanjung Pinang harbour (and yes they will wait for you if the ferry is late). Then, the location of the hotel is good if like us you want to have a local experience. People in the street are not used to see group of Europeans and they were very welcoming. We really enjoyed interacting with them. If you want to get a taste of the nightlife there, the Dope Club is located around 10 minutes walking from the hotel. We had lot of fun dancing all night long with locals, Regarding the hotel itself, the rooms are big and clean. Breakfast was very good with lot of choices ! Really we don't understand the negative reviews. Lot of improvement must have been made... We ate very well and when we ask for more bread, the staff went to buy some more for us. The guys at the reception arranged transportation on Saturday afternoon to go to a beautiful beach around 45min away and we finished the day with some time at the spa (you have discount if you stay at the hotel), the spa girls were really sweet ! All the hotel staff was super friendly and welcoming. Rarely in our lives we have been treated this well ! We will certainly recommend this place and maybe come back for another weekend. I wanted to go bintan with friends on 1st day of chinese new year however due to ill planning we missed the ferry. We took ferry to batam instead and decide to go to bintan from there. We called halim hotel but due to communication barrier we could not get a conclusion from halim hotel. We called a last time to halim hotel after 2 failed calls to gather information and this time it was Ervi a kind lady who speak to us. She spoke in good english and constantly assured us we could still check in the next day and no forfeit nor with additional charges.She even gave me her personal number so i could let her know when i will reach tanjong pinang ferry terminal so she could arrange a shuttle to fetch us to hotel. I was impressed with her calmness and hospitality in handling this matter which is actually our fault . When we reach the hotel i was amazed at the way staffs greeted us and treat us like VIPs . We checked in within 15 mins and was impressed again with the cleanliness of the room considering the price we paid for 3 nights there . Everything seems new and bed is exceptionally clean . Sang KTV at the hotel though songs are outdated but still value for money. Overall if you want to go bintan tanjong pinang Halim is a must stay hotel and i will definitely return back !

I booked at Bintan Beach Resort when I was doing a city tour for Tanjung Pinang. Although it's away from the Bintan Resorts, it's a good place if you are planning to tour Tanjung Pinang. I booked the room for a night at a cheap price. The room was clean, the toiletry kits were complete. I just saw one small cockroach near the door, but I wasn't a sensitive person so it didn't matter. The staffs were also friendly and helped me get a driver/guide.

Paradise Hotel is a wonderful hotel located at Tanjung Pinang, Bintan. Most tourists to the island prefer to stay in the resort area. This place has very few hotels that offer a comfortable stay. Paradise is one of them. The staff was generous enough to upgrade my standard room to a suite because a standard room was not available. Then when my group decided to extend our stay for another night, it offered us a 10% discount. This speaks volumes regarding the service of the hotel. The glitches were the fact that a lot of the staff do not know English, food is served only at breakfast time (and nothing is vegetarian), and when we went there, the elevator was out of order. The hotel is 6 storeys tall. If you can overlook these, the place is recommended.

It was a value for money deal only for stay if you want to stay for cheap. Friendly staff, they made calls on my behalf to ferry terminal, did not even charge money. Food is not so good. Very far from the airport terminal, atleast 1 hour by car. I faced problem with the water in the washroom while shower and had to call the staff to fix it as the flow was very slow. Good to stay if one wants to stay inside the city. Lot of places to eat around the hotel to explore Indonesian food.

I was on a 3D2N snorkelling and shore-fishing trip. We had a spacious cabin to lay out the fishing gear. Since we have food allergies, we had to cook our own food over a hiking stove. The staff allowed us to store our perishables in their refrigerator without any questions (and even our beer). They do have a bar and at least two varieties of beer on the beach itself. It was such a charming spot with a lovely view almost at the water's edge. The swimming pool is under renovation and looks messy. I suggest getting rid of the pool and planting more coconut trees for the rustic feel - I mean the beach is less than 10 m away why would we need a pool? a few outdoor showers on a wooden deck would be great. The water is clear and clean, and Hello Bintan staff clean the white sand beach each morning. I was actually more relaxed here than at other 5 star beach resorts! The food looked simple local, tasty and the portions generous. I'll come back again cos I was so well-looked after here.

Place was nice and a bit far from city. Beach not so good and full jelly fishes. The sand was full of sand flies and no body from hotel informed us except jelly fish. We all family affected badly and still my Herath HMPK continuing medical treatments. The bite was so bad and I rushed to emergency care of NUH Singapore early morning 0430 hrs. I was unable to breath. Luckily god save me. That is our last time to Bintan Island and this hotel

I hate the big cheesy resorts on Bintan Island, but this was so good. Close to the beach in lovely bungalows. Extremely high value for money for being on Bintan Island. Very close to an exellent local fish and shellfood restaurant. Very polite staff. Recommended for everyone going to Bintan and dosen't want to be on one of the huge (and terrible) resorts. LOVE Marjoly!

If you want to have a relaxing journey at Bintan with the following conditions, Mutiara Beach Resort must be the Top priority choice for you. 1. Private Beach: Unlike other beach at the northern resorts of Bintan, the beach at Mutiara is like a private beach for us with a few of tourists nearby. It is definitely good for couple and family to stay. You can enjoy your afternoon time at the beach club by playing board games or participating their activities. 2. Excellent service: From owner to manager, from staff to massage therapist, all of them performed excellent service to us and other customers! They will give kind advice of journey tips and reply promptly when we asked. They not only greeted and smiled at us every time, they also did their best to serve us beyond our expectation. Specially thanks to Marc and its team to give me a b'day surprise and I think that also proved their commitment to serve their customers well. 3. Traditional Atap-house resort: The stay in the traditional Atap resort is memorable, it's like back to the nature and young age. Although there might be some flies around the resort area, we don't really see mosquitos and flies in our rooms, perhaps thanks to the mosquito repellent lotion provided by the resort. 4. Aroma River Spa: It is something that one has to experience in Bintan, whether you stay in Mutiara Beach Resort or not. You will take the boat (sampan) to the River spa which is an unique experience. We also enjoyed very relaxing and professional massage by the therapists. The environment is very relaxing, and when it was raining, we looked at the river with rain dropping, we feel so calm and relieved at that time after massage. We will choose to stay at Mutiara Beach Resort for a relaxing trip when we go Bintan again!

This is not an international hotel. But given its price, I consider this "good value for money". If your destination is the city of Tanjung Pinang, not the resort in the north of Bintan Island, this hotel is a good option. It is only 10-15 minutes walk to the ferry port that goes to Batam island and Penyengat island. Very easy to catch the minibus that travels surrounding Tanjung Pinang. On the road where the hotel is located, there are several traditional coffee shops where we can have meals as well. Behind the hotel, there is an old mall and facing it, a large food court. Though the bathroom is no fancy, it is clean with good hot water. The room is quite large though looks a bit tired. My room has a view towards the ocean which is quite nice. During my stay, the safe is not working. The wifi, though a bit slow, is a plus for this level. I though of moving to other more upscale hotel, but they were located quite far. The bar at the top floor is closed permanently. But we still go to the top floor which is open air, to see the city view of Tanjung Pinang. Walking around 15 minutes, we are already at the beach where everynight people gather on the chairs and see television program broadcasted in several large screen. And we could see Penyengat island from there, with its beautiful mosque, even at night as they turn on the light on the mosque.

There was a miss comunication between the management so there is no more air conditioning deluxe room. but they quickly settle the problem by giving me a family room with air conditioning which is bigger than deluxe room. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room is very nice and i like the way they flip the towel. I hope they can install hot water for shower in futher. And the curtain can see through the room, i think it's not convenience for lady and couple. Had a lovely holiday overall Thanks

Service was extremely good with the staffs being there for you when you need something. However, if you're up or traveling and sight seeing around bintan, charter your own transport as the resort's shuttle service only brings you to their sister resort. One of the cons is that as this resort is new, the menu option wise is always the same, would suggest them to have new variety of food option. Overall, a really great place to just chill and relax :)

I was having a 2d1n short getaway with my gf in this resort. When I was Google-ing for an accommodation on Bintan Island, I was so attracted by their villa on the sea with balcony of sunrise view. I would like to give my gf a birthday surprise trip and I thought she would be so happy to stay in this kampung-style resort. The transportation from ferry terminal to the resort took about 1 hour. However, the scenic view in the resort really worth for the long ride! We were so fortunate to check in about 4hours earlier (standard check in time at 15:00). The royal ocean suite was really big and clean. And the seaview from our balcony was really amazing. We had a swim in their swimming pool and had a superb candle light dinner which I had ordered before the trip via email. The next morning we woke up ard 5:45am and lying on the comfortable chairs to wait for the sunrise. It was low tide in the morning, and we walked out far into the sea (~300m from the beach!!). We climbed up to the rock (known as the meteor island) and took a lot of photos with stunning view. There were so many little shy crabs all over the ground too. It was really a great experience to stay in this resort which I couldn't feel from our previous trips in Phuket and Bali. My gf and I would like to thank you so much to provide us such a great service during our stay in the resort. Well done to all the staff from Bintan Spa Villa Beach Resort!!

Nestled among the lush greenery and woods, De Bintan Villa has lived up to our expectations with wonderful service provided by sincere staff and a peaceful ambience. Food at the in-house restaurant was really delicious. They serve traditional nasi goreng, mee goreng and the likes in addition to wok-fried food, soupy dishes and freshwater fish. It was surprising that the place was very clean too. The tables were spick and span and room was cozy, with a very comfortable bed. Do bring insect repellent because there are abundance of mosquitoes in forested area like that. I highly recommend De Bintan Villa to all who want some peace and quiet for a couple of days.

well, i stayed 2 nights at nirwana beach club and i enjoyed it a lot. my family and i love the beach and food the most. but, rooms a bit far from the main road or restaurants. it is like isolated. free buggy rides for guests will tally with the excellent service :) in addition, the nirwana garden resorts is green and we like the nirwana mini-zoo. perhaps it's the best resort in bintan island, indonesia.

My bf and I had our first short trip and decided to go to this hotel in Bintan. Indeed we made a very good choice. The hotel is beautiful, the room is spacious and the amenities are new. We are on the highest floor and the view from our room is awesome. The lake view on the left side and Plaza Lagoi and the sea view on the right. There is also an entertainment room where you can play billiard and psp and also movies. The breakfast buffet is super yummy, so many choices from western to local food. And the best part is the service, i've been to other 5 star hotel but theres nothing like the service given to us by Grand Lagoi, all the staff are friendly, helpful and polite..special mention to Pancha, the shuttle driver who helped us checked some things at the ferry terminal.The best hotel ever. Highly recommended. Keep it up. 👏👏👏

1hour drive from Ferry station, in the quiet area of Bintan island, east side so water is cleaner (i assume than the side across Singapore). The resort location is great overlooking directly the beach, has 2 swimming pools (1 under renovation when i was there). The lowtide gets too far off the shore for about the entire afternoon. Sunmoon island restaurant has a lot of food selections. Oceanic spa is just average though in terms of value for money. I did not try any of the water sports so i cannot comment there. Friendly and helpful staff.

We spent 3 days in Canopi in bintan Island. Main attraction of this site is the lagoon. Which is 1km long. Nice and clean sea water lagoon. Beautiful atmosphere in the morning and evening. The tent was cool but not 100% clean. Buffet breakfast was good. Activities are very expensive. Food is very expensive in Canopi. No Uber. Taxi service is bit expensive. Major attractions are very far from this place. No shuttle services are available from the hotel to attractions. Overall it was a pleasant stay. Hope that the management will do better in future.

We were very happy with our stay in Cassia, after reading quite negative reviews from other guests who had reviewed the place. Cassia is a light-hearted and relaxing resort, which allowed you to be spontaneous and relaxed for a beach holiday. The staff were all very hospitable and friendly, even bringing us to special spots near the resort like the One Tree Hill and the 17 Hole Lagoon for us to have a nice scenary view of Bintan Island. Breakfast was reasonable, though not having a restaurant now means you have to go to their sister resorts Angsana or Banyan Tree where the meal options are expensive. Our tip will be to prepare some easy to prepare food so that you can do your own cooking in the room and enjoy the company of close friends or family. While the mart does sell food for cooking, the cost is fairly exorbitant for the small portion. Having read other people's reviews prepared us, and we bought our own food to cook other than supplementing the meat from the mart. The cooking facilities in the room were superb and everything you need are available and in very new condition. Being a very new resort, the rooms are spacious, clean and new. We were not bothered by renovation around at all, and we enjoyed the newness of the room and the comfort it brought.

Better service than we received at the Banyan Tree during the same stay on Bintan Island. The Residence Bintan is a great place for a quiet beach holiday with family, both young and old. The service was without fault during our entire 9 night stay, friendly, thoughtful and highly professional. The day spa is a must with lovely treatment rooms. Lots of chances to reconnect with family through the huge range of activities. The beachfront villas are well appointed and afford considerable privacy with a resort layout focussed on a sense of space and relaxation. Terrific place, congratulations to the team!
