“7 night stay, November 2025”
New hotel, with a major flaw - there is a high-rise building adjacent and very close to the hotel on one side, and the view from 2 or 3 rooms on each floor is obscured by this building! I was given one of these rooms, and about 80% of the view from the window was obscured by that building. It blocks natural light from the room making the room feel dark and dingy, and after 2 days I couldn't take it any more! I requested a room change and the management obliged, the new room was on the opposite side of the building with an unobstructed view, and the room was also a bit bigger, so a vast improvement. This new room and the old room were very clean, well furnished and well designed. Bedding was very comfortable, and the sheets and pillow cases were of exceptionally good quality. As for the breakfast buffet, it was a disaster! It was horrendously overcrowded with tables crammed too close together, and too many people, they need a *much* larger area to cope with the numbers of diners. Another problem was with the a/c which was not working properly, the main seating area with all the food stations was hot and stuffy and very uncomfortable and very unpleasant. I voiced my concern to the buffet manager and he arranged for me to sit in the small seating area, the a/c was working ok there. The food itself was good, but the food stations kept running out of food. Surely it is the management's responsibility to keep all food stations topped up with food rather than for guests to have to keep asking staff for a refill??!! Choice of fruit available was poor, but there was an abundance of cakes and pastries available. IMHO management needs to employ more service staff at the buffet because the staff are overworked, every day I saw them rushing around cleaning tables and refilling food stations, but they couldn't cope with the workload. Service from all staff I encountered on my stay was excellent. I used the hotel transfer service to the airport when I checked out, the driver Michael was very helpful.
