Good Value Accomodation ”

We needed simple accommodation close to town and Cairns City Backpackers was just what we needed. It is a no-frills place with basic rooms and has a nice ambience with friendly staff. There are 3 kitchens to prepare your own meals if you not wish to eat in town and a small pool in the backyard if you want to have a quick dip. The location is within walking distance to the main centre of town and the Esplanade. Great to have found this place in Cairns!

Cairns nice twin room”

I travel to cairnswith limit budget. This twin room is clean and cheap. They provide kitchen that I can cook that is very nice. Because the meal price is very high in cairns. This hotel is very near the Cairns central mall with supermarket inside. I buy meat, vegetables, and fruits and cook for ourself. We live there for two days with nice meals. Many peoples are very nice and smile. Ther are also free TV and movies provided. The internet are also available with low price. This hotel is what I need, I strongly recommend This hotel to you, if you are also a limited budget person. Thank you!!

Fantastic budget hostel”

Had a great stay at Cairns City Backpackers! You get what you pay for - walking distance to the CBD, clean bathrooms and everything you need in the kitchen.

Awesome Budget Hostel - Loved it”

I loved my stay at this hostel. It was really cheap and clean which worked well with my limited budget! There were quite a few kitchens and bathrooms to choose from on the different levels and finally I found a place with fast, free wifi. I extended a week, got a free night and the reception staff were excellent with booking my tours and giving me a discount. A really nice, little tropical hideaway. Right near the shopping center for some cheap food. And a really nice crowd there too. Thank you for a great stay.

Perfect little retreat”

This place is awesome. We just csme back fron five months in Thailand and decided tk gi for a four atar hotek first before we came here and hibestly this okave which was half the price was far more enjoyable, welcoming and better equipped than the four star place. I LOVE the chill out areas. They are oerfect and make it difficult to leave. Kitchens are perfectly equipped, some guests are gross and dont clean up after themselves but other than that the facilities are well maintained and clean. Pool is cute and the undercover sections and the tv provides a great retreat from the tropical rains. Would 100% stay here again

The cat in the hostel is so so so cute that playing with her was my favorite thing when I stayed in there. Very cheap，good money saving place for backpackers.

Mediocre at best”

We only stayed the one night and that was enough. Nothing horrific just a series of things that could have been better. The shower in our room dripped all night which nearly drove me mad (I reported it as we left, the guy didn’t seem to think it was an issue). The shower wasn’t very clean. The location isn’t great. Not terrible but there are a lot better backpackers in Cairns.

Friendly service & great extras”

Our first back-packer experience and we would return. Friendly and quiet although room was hot even with fan. The facilities were good - bathroom, kitchen with crockery and utensils, laundry facilities and clothes line. Included was a voucher for a free simple meal at Woolshed Bar if you buy one drink or a cheap upgrade to the full menu. Comment re food irrelevant as not provided but you can cook your own.

I stayed with my friend in double room. We were two, but there was only one plug. There was another, but I had to pay for it because it was air conditioner plug. Also, location is not so close from the city, whatever kind of pick up you want, they come earliest to pick you up and latest to get you back.

Price of the hostel and the dude on reception was awesome.. fast efficient and friendly . Room was stuffy but clean- but got what i asked for which was room spray. .. massively helped. Also appreciated the aircon. Got bitten heaps by mossies in garden.. beware.

Not too bad”

The shower in the room is pretty small and because it only use a curtain to cover so the room is really humid and smells humid as well. It takes 20 minutes walk to town, but theres a bus staion which takes 5 minutes walk so doesn't take long get to the city centre. Wifi is working well and they have free internet, the staff are nice so if you don't care much about the room and just looking for a bed to crush, this is the place for you!

Cheapest place I’ve been”

Hostel close to the shops, about 30 minutes walk from centre and port. Rooms with fan and air con. Could be cleaner, especially fan which was full of dust. Late check in, everything ready prior to arrival. Great people around, tiny pool to chill. Old style hostel but comfy :)

Best hostel ”

I finished by staying in this hostel one month, and when I left, it was the same as leaving home. It is generally clean, staff is fantastic and friendly, Marco at the reception is top top, the courtyard is extremely comfy and homely. This place is home, thanks for everything

Excellent Value for money”

I only needed a bed and a shower, and I got both. Very happy with the stay, when I come back next year, I will stay here again

Awful”

Would never stay here again. Worst hostel we have ever stayed in (and we have backpacked through South East Asia and stayed at some questionable places). It was dirty, the blinds in the room were broken and there was security camera outside pointing right through the window. It was SO loud. We got barely any sleep both nights from people screaming, singing and playing instruments and getting drunk. First night I got a pizza and left a few slices and put it in the fridge, when I went to get it the next day I thought a slice was missing but couldn’t be sure. The next night I got a Dominoes pizza again for my lunch the next day and left it in the fridge. I went back to retrieve it in the morning and it was gone. There were security cameras in the kitchen but when we went to the front desk to complain they said there was nothing they could do and there was no security cameras, yet there were signs all over saying security cameras in operation. Hated this place, avoid at all costs.
