Backpackers Hostel”
Don’t expect a high-end hostel. Its a backpackers Hostel and its the cheapest rate in the Singapore I’ve ever book. They offer free breakfast (bread, oatmeal, coffee and tea). Some people inside the room are not very considerate with the noise they make. Thats the catch when you choosing backpackers. Overall it was a pleasant stay. Please treat the Hostel as your own in terms of cleaning your own dishes and flushing the toilet to be considerate in other guest.

The location is in Little India neighborhood. The staff is nice and helpful. They have cold and hot water. If you need to leave your luggage after check-out, you pay 1$.

Need maintenance”
Pros: Near MRT stations: Jalan Besar and Farrer Park Near Jalan Besar Plaza, Mustafa Center and City Square Mall Bunk beads has outlets and lights Got lockers by request Wifi is fast Cons: Frontdesk is not 24H so we had to wait until 9AM to leave our bags. Check in is at 3PM and check out is 11AM, I don't know if that is a normal in Singapore. The hostel is understaffed, the lady receptionist is also the one cleaning the toilet and floor so it's not very well maintained. Our booking said it includes breakfast but we were never offered the next morning. Only has 1 toilet for the whole floor (16 people) Top bunks don't have curtains. Not providing towels. No proper storage room, they only let you leave your bags in the lobby.

An overall great stay. I stayed for one night, and it has all the essentials of a backpackers hostel with the soft touch of warm hospitality, and great cleanliness. I'd recommend this to you, yes you sitting on that fence there!

No stairs”
It's my first time to get a hostel with an elevator, very helpful for the disabled. The operating time of room air conditioning is limited, so make sure that we are not sweaty when going to bed. Ini pertama kalinya saya mendapat hostel dengan sebuah lift, sangat membantu untuk penyandang cacat. Waktu pengoperasian AC kamar terbatas, sehingga pastikan bahwa kita tidak dalam kondisi berkeringat saat hendak tidur.

Nice stay”
We stayed in the mixed dorm. We had really inconsiderate room mates who had their phone going off all night and we're really loud, we ended up shouting at them but this isn't the hostels fault. Bunk beds were comfy and didn't squeak when you moved. Toilets were clean, simple breakfast provided, but no where to cook your own food. Close to a bus stop to get around but not within walking distance of much apart from a few malls.

Great place for solo traveler!”
The place is just few minutes walk from MRT Farrer Station. Staffs our great and accommodating. It was indeed a nice, cozy place to stay especially for solo traveler like me on a budget. Able to meet new friends during my 3-day stay here. They also offered me a discounted Universal Studio pass! Great! Highly recommended hostel.

Nice hostel but a bit far from MRT station”
You pay what you get for. But there are cheaper dorm with the same facilities provided around Singapore. Anyways, the staff here are super helpful and friendly! Breakfast is decent, toast with jams; and variety of hot drinks. Wifi is superb.

This hostel is near the bus station and MRT. Staff is friendly and good. I asked them to borrow the umbrella in 4 days without fee, it is so kind service. When you want to check out, you can keep your luggage here and it take 1 SGD

Filthy and strange policies ”
We started booking one night at blue jazz and I was dumb enough to add another night to soon on our booking (as we didn’t want to spend our days in Singapore moving around with our luggage as we wanted to experience the city). After the first night we walk to get breakfast and come back to the hostel to find out that our bags and stuff has been moved out in the hallway in a blue plastic bag. They told me it’s their policy that you have to check out and in again if you extend day by day (check in is at 15.00 and check out at 11 btw). So we literally have to get ready and pack our stuff outside the room. On top of this there’s been stolen phones and personal belongings in the hostel the night before, so I was very upset they just threw out my things outside the dorm for anyone to go and grab my stuff. Due to the theft happening at the hostel there was a fight in the night between 2 guys. This happened around 22.00 and the staff end their shift 22.30 so they didn’t bother calling the police (they said they would do it in the morning the day after instead) and they also left the two guys that was fighting about the theft staying in the hostel over the night?! (There’s no security during the night). ***we later found out that one of the guys fighting in the hostel just came out from prison and I want to highlight again that they didn’t bother calling the police until the day after - someone living in the hostel called the police himself due to the theft and fight as the staff didn’t bother.*** Also if you haven’t checked in by 22.30 when staff end their shift, they put a note on the door facing the Main Street with all details and pin codes to the hostel and dorms available for anyone to grab and enter the hostel. It doesn’t feel safe at all. During the 2 days we stayed at blue jazz, The bathroom wasn’t cleaned once! It was filthy with pee on the toilet seat and hair in the sink every time I needed to use the bathroom, so I rather didn’t and held on to go somewher

The hostel had no backpackers, it is not a hostel but a hotel. It was filled with Chinese workers mainly from a particular company. They have reception for only around 10 hours a day and only saw 1 person cleaning and that was the receptionist on the morning I was leaving. It was probably a month or better since the underside floor of my bed was cleaned (cans/bottles plastic bags). Both hostels I stayed at in Singapore did not have 24 hour staff. In all hostels of 6 countries in S. E. Asia I have stayed in there has been 24 hour reception. This hostel has 100 people running around but no reception?

Excellent Stay”
Overall it was right to choose this hotel. Great location with 2 MRT stations walking distance and bus stops as well. Breakfast was only toast, cereal and coffees but it was enough for me. Thank you for service, would love to come here again if I had another chance :)

Great Customer Service. We would like to commend them for being so accomodating in every request we have. and they have free breakfast too! My inly suggestion is for them to add toiletries in the shower room. However, I will definitely recommend it to everyone.

Not like the pictures.... very unhappy with the check in process. ”
Pros; clean bedding Cons; - the pictures aren’t like the hotel. There is no pool table or bar system. We queried this with the receptionist and she laughed and said “these are old photos” we don’t have this anymore. - we booked this place due to it looking spacious and a place where you didn’t have to stay in the room all the time. - the pool table and bar were the reasons we booked this place and to turn up with these not being here was disappointing. - upon check in (we’d arrived around 8pm) due to our bus from kl taking longer. There was no instruction on how to check in before we arrived as it says reception is open until 10.30pm so we weren’t worried. - got there, and some random person asked if we had checked in. - so this person ( didn’t work there by the way) pointed to sheets of paper on the door. - well, my full name was on it along with my room number and lockbox code to get into the room. Unbelievable.. Anyone could have checked in under my name!

Worst customer service *OLD CHINA Lady at the reception*”
I've called one month ago prior booking to make sure there isn't error on our arrival but it was so disappointing that the services wasn't delivery. 1) We booked a 2 nights stay at Blue Jazz Hostel but was transferred to Checker backpacker at 50 Campbell Lane on arrival. 2) Upon arrival at the checker, a rude CHINA lady a the reception greeted us. She argued in every questions asked and making our stay a nightmares. 3) The room was occupied not just us but with rats. Asked if CHINA lady can help, she was refusing. 4) No remote control for air-conditioner, i understand that this is a backpacker hotel but at least place it somewhere where guest can use. 5) No wifi at hotel, gave us a sim data only after we had asked. I've spoke to Anna the manager, she seem polite on the phone but her mom the CHINA Lady wasn't pleasant at all. It was unfortunate that it had happened to us. I wouldn't recommend at all unless you want to risk going through on what we had gone through.
