Douglas M. Párban utazó United States of America, 2013. április 26.	Clean, comfortable, and very unique. Cost, proximity to the subway, breakfast included. 7,7 This was a nice, clean hotel. The staff didn't speak much English, but as soon as I showed my passport, they recognized my name and gave us a room key. I asked for another for my wife, and they had no problem with that. We were also given a small toiletry bag that contained toothbrushes, toothpaste, feminine stuff, and...condoms. The room was large and clean, but the first thing we noticed was a large green, brown and blue, mural of a psychedelic guitar player that took up the entire wall behind the bed. The bed itself was the standard Korean almost-concrete in firmness variety. The bathroom had a separate toilet area and shower room, and the water pressure was good. All in all its a good hotel, but it is also a "love" hotel, if you catch my drift.

The staff were very polite and helpful. I checked in around 1:30 am, and the concierge was there to help carry my bags. I got a fairly good price, and my room was very clean. On the second morning, I tried the included breakfast buffet and left satisfied. However, there were a few issues in the room: The computer's software was painfully out of date, the keyboard was missing a key, and the space-bar didn't work. On the first night, I thought I had locked myself in the washroom because the handle only works when pressed up, not down. The bed was large, but the comforter a little too heavy for the temperature. Hotel Feature Tip: The sign says "Hotel Joy."

Simple breakfast, but fair for the price. The receptionist was likeable, and explained to the cab where we wanted to go.

He could speak both English and Japanese. We tried to speak in Japanese since we already live in Japan and he looked to excited about it Hotel is very close to Wolpyeong subway station, just 2 mins walking distance. Homeplus shopping mall is in walking distance too, 10~15 minutes. Youseong district that has a lot of restaurants, shops, etc. is also very close. Because it's in the neighborhood of two university campus, a lot of cafes a located in Yeuseong. You can take a taxi to the sightseeing spot like expo park, planetarium and observatory, science museum, geological museum, etc. Restaurant Tip: There are to restaurants in Yeuseong that worth what you pay. Ali Baba's Treasure and Taj Mahal.

Great Location and clean rooms Location near 100s of busy restaurants, next to large supermarket, clean rooms 7,7 When you arrive, just drive into the hotel entrance where there is a curtain covering it and park anywhere as there is valet parking. When checking in, they will ask for your keys and provide valet service free of charge when requested. The room was clean and had all of the basic amenities except for a window. Breakfast is included but it had limited choices and may be disappointing to western travellers. There were scrambled eggs, sausage, Korean soup, cereal, toast, and yogurt. At this price point, having a simple but free breakfast is a bonus. The hotel is located amoung 100s of restaurants and is in the middle of where all locals hang out for dinner and drinks.
Kim D. Párban utazó United States of America, 2012. december 2.	Decent hotel for good price Fun, designer-oriented rooms 8 The Joy Hotel is one of the more modern-designed hotels. The rooms are decorated with art replicas in various colors and themes. We had two rooms: one was a black and white theme with Picasso's paintings, the other was more colorful. The rooms were a good space, and the beds very comfortable. The bathrooms were a little more outdated looking compared to the rest of the room, and looked very used. The rooms had computers, which were very useful. The computer chair in our room had some white stains on it, so we just put a towel over it. (Don't even want to know.) The staff were generally helpful, except for one man. When we needed directions, one of the ladies looked up the place we needed and wrote down clear instructions we could give the taxi. When the sound system in our room wasn't working, a man eagerly tried to help us, but couldn't. We ended up fixing it ourselves, but was glad he tried. Another man gave us a flippant attitude, and was very off-putting. He didn't even try to help us when we needed it, until we kept pushing. I suppose it all evens out, but it would've been nice if all staff were helpful, as it is their job. Across the hotel was E-mart Traders, which is like the American Costco. We didn't know at first, and thought it was a regular E-mart (which we were pretty excited about.) Of course, we weren't looking to buy anything in bulk, so this was of no use to us. There are a few major streets nearby with clubs/bars/restaurants. We tried a Domino's Pizza and it was very good! Everything else is accessible by taxi. Overall, a pretty decent hotel for the price we paid. We'd probably stay here again if we go back to Daejeon. Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: The National Science Museum is really accessible by taxi. The Space Observatory is a little further, but definitely worth the trip.

The bathroom had a really cool shower. Not a lot of places allow smoking indoors anymore, so it was nice that I could do that in my room. No problems with checking in and checking out. Good places to eat nearby.
