good for divers, Kon Tiki Marina Suites
right on the coast, good facilities for divers, very close to the airport
5,7
I chose this hotel for a quick get away from Manila for the weekend, as there are lots of flights between Manila and Cebu it was easy to select a cheap flight after work to leave Manila about 7pm and get into the resort by 9pm. The room I selected was the "Marcel Suites" - it has views of the sea from every window - so there are sea views all the way round.
The resort is set up specifically for divers, so would be good if you are learning you PADI open water diving, for example.
Overall though I think it was too expensive for the quality of the room. The aircon was way to small for the size of the room, the TV old and small.. the bathroom passable. Food was average. But it fulfilled the objective of having a quick get away by the sea from Manila.
If I hadn't been to the Philippines before I'd have been disappointed, as Cebu-Mactan is no where near as nice as some of the other places in the Philippines I've been to - Palawan, Coron, Boracay, Siquijor, Negros, Bohol, etc... If you have time to visit those places do so in preference over Cebu-Mactan

two star hotel
close to the water, big balcony and big room
4,3
Our taxi driver had a hard time finding this hotel. It is located in a place that seem so remote.First impression: we were in shock, felt scared because of the surroundings of the hotel. We had to ask people where this particular hotel was. Finally, after minutes of searching we found ourselves in a private dirt gravel road and at the dead end. We entered the gate of Kon tiki Marina property and boy oh boy, what did we get ourselves into? Run down rusty building onto the left and the road was muddy. We expected more of the hotel, but it didn't deliver. The room was big with two single beds, tv, livingroom, balcony and kitchenette...BUT right when we walked, we smelled something like mildew or musty smell. We wanted to spray anti-bacterial deodorizer spray right there and then. The hardwood floors were dusty and their kitchenette looked like they weren't being clean everyday. We were told they have a free wifi, but never worked when we tried it. We ate at their restaurant and found it okay. Sammy the restaurant was very friendly, helpful and attentive... so that was a plus. Since we already paid for two nights, we decided to stay despite of the circumstance.
Utazási tipp:
If you are a traveler with medium to high standards, I recommend that you choose a different hotel like the Waterfront Hotel and Casino. You will definitely get what your money is worth and you will surely enjoy your time.

Quaint hotel on the water
On the water, restaurant, hot showers
7,7
We stayed for 2 nights in one of the their suite rooms. Great views from the room- safe (good lock), lots of windows, spacious, TV with cable, etc. Only complaint was that it was an AC room but the AC unit didn't really work- but it was cool enough with breeze from the outside (might not be okay in the summertime though). Friendly staff!
Restaurant Tip:
Lantaw Native Floating Restaurant- a bit farther away but check it out!

A great place to stay
Seclusion, cleanliness, great location on the water, availability of things to do

My wife and I spent our honeymoon at the Kon Tiki in mid October 2012. The weather during our stay could not have been more perfect, which gave us the opportunity to enjoy our stay there and the facilities to the utmost. The first thing that I noticed upon our arrival was that everything was as advertised. It was a beautiful place and immaculate. There are only 3 suites in the hotel and while we were staying there the other two suites were vacant. Although the hotel has no beach of its own, there are two unique, coral staircases that give you direct access to the water, which was perfect. I spent many hours snorkeling around the hotel with the schools of fish. I could not believe the variety of fish living right there, it was really incredible. The restaurant that services the hotel offers an extensive menu and their room service is unexcelled. The hotel and restaurant staff were all very nice and helpful and went out of their way to take care of us. If you need to go to the local mall, it's only about 10 minutes away by taxi and costs about 200 pesos to get there. The recreational facilities available at the resort are extensive an include, among other things, scuba diving and scuba diving lessons, parasailing, jetskiing, island hopping, and a yellow submarine for sight-seeing reef tours. Although we didn't go on the submarine, I suspect that it was lined with portholes, or has a glass bottom, or possibly both. The only problem we had concerning our stay had nothing at all to do with the hotel. The taxi driver who drove us to the hotel had never heard of it and he had to stop several times along the way to ask directions. I suspect that most taxi drivers would have the same problem, so make sure you have the hotel's address available for the driver to look at or you may not get there. There is no phone in the room but that didn't cause us any problems. Arranging for room service is just a matter of walking down to the restaurant.

Hotel Feature Tip:
для дайверов
